Rates

$150.00 to $125.00 for a 45-50-minute session.

This is a flat rate for intake, individual, couples, and family sessions. Teletherapy sessions are available for clients who are Wisconsin residents. Please note, additional fees may apply for out of session support, PHI access and disclosures, bridge care support and more.

Please note, a sliding pay scale can be offered to individuals impact by COVID-19 and presenting with financial hardships.

Insurance

To keep my practice focused primarily on client care, I do not bill through insurance plans.

Below are some reasons:

All insurance companies require practitioners to utilize the DSM-5 diagnosis to get reimbursed for counseling services. Not all clients seek counseling services related to a mental health disorder and may include financial distress, anxiety, depression, couples conflict, adjustment, grief, marriage preparation, trauma, and life stressors.

Many clients seek help for reasons other than mental health disorders. This could include but is not limited to, family conflict, life stress and transitions, grief, sexual and gender orientation-related exploration, marriage conflict, and marriage prep.

Insurance companies require full access to your clinical diagnosis, progress, symptoms, and behaviors. This information is utilized to dictate how many sessions can be utilized.

I believe the length of counseling treatment is a decision best determined by the client and counselor's collaborative work.

Insurance payments made through Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Plans are accepted. In order to access Flex Bending Benefit, the client will be provided with a receipt for services to submit to the insurance company upon request.

What clients self-submitting receipts for reimbursement with their insurance policy show know:

  • Out-of-Network benefits.
  • Out-of-Network deductibles.
  • Understanding their deductible has been met upon for reimbursement for their policies. It is important to know which supporting documents are required for reimbursement for self-submitting receipts, including any information supporting care.
  • Understanding what percentage will be reimbursed for any fees paid for services.

Payment

Full payment is due at the time of services unless agreed upon in an arrangement prior to the scheduled session. All major credit/debit cards, HSA, cash, Zelle and checks are accepted for payment. The client invoice will be provided per request.

Cancellation Policy

It is highly encouraged to notify at least 24 hours in advance for cancellation or rescheduling an appointment.

Any late cancellations or no show for scheduled appointments made will be required to pay a late cancellation or no show fee.

Emergencies are an exception to this policy.

Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The client and counselor's therapeutic relationship is protected by laws that require written permission to disclose to a different party, or required by law to report to appropriate authorities. Some exceptions might include:

  • If a client is an immediate danger to cause harm to self and or others. I am by law required to inform authorities and the intended victim(s) immediately.
  • If a client appears to have an intent to harm themself with no signs of cooperation and seek help, I am permitted by law to ensure the client's safety.
  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse.
  • If the client discloses the use and possession of child pornography.

Please note -- safety precautions and appropriate steps are being taken to assure the safety of all. If you or someone you know has been exposed to COVID-19, kindly take appropriate safety measures and follow WHO and state guidelines.
